Post Office to gather donations for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Each year on the second Saturday of May, letter carriers across the country gather donations as they go about collecting and delivering the mail. Mail carriers have been participating in this annual one-day-only food drive for 30 years. To date, the initiative has gathered over 1.9 billion pounds of food across the United States and its territories.

Barnsdall photos found and local roofs damaged during Monday night storms

On Monday evening, another round of severe storms battered Kansas and Oklahoma. An EF-4 tornado in Oklahoma brought significant damage to Barnsdall and Bartlesville. In just under an hour, the tornado moved from south of Hominy, Oklahoma, through Barnsdall and Bartlesville. This tornado moved across about 40 miles of Oklahoma. Much of Barnsdall was destroyed, and Bartlesville saw significant damage, as well.

CCC offers unique learning opportunity with Kansas National Guard

During the last day of finals week for Coffeyville Community College (CCC) students, the Kansas National Guard offered students a special learning opportunity. Members of the National Guard brought a helicopter as part of a presentation about their medevac— or medical evacuation — operations.

The lesser prairie chicken is dying. Kansas experts say the last of the prairie will go with it.

Staking out the elusive and rapidly disappearing lesser prairie chicken involves a stealthy 5:30 a.m. entry into a rebar-fortified bird blind, freezing into place as the sun rises and the birds begin to strut here and there, popcorning in an age-old mating dance.

Celebrate Jesus this Sunday with Coffeyville First Nazarene located at 2300 W First Street. Sunday School starts at 9:45 with classes for all ages. The morning worship service begins at 10:45 with music led by the Praise and Worship team. Pastor Luke Letsinger will bring the morning message as he continues the series from the Psalms. The service will broadcast on Facebook for those who want to join remotely. Children’s Church for PreK-6th grade is in the Activity Center and Toddler Nursery is located in the Worship Center. H.O.M.E. groups meet at 6:00 on Sunday evening. CFN Youth meet on at 6:00 on Wednesday.

Kansas court investigation confirms cyberattack compromised personal data of 150K people

About 150,000 people who had some form of interaction with Kansas courts might have had their data breached in the October cyberattack that took the judicial system offline for weeks. The Office of Judicial Administration on Monday announced findings from a thirdparty investigation into the cyberattack.
