Former pastor William Dodd sentenced to over 27 years in prison for rape

William Keith Dodd was originally arrested on September 12, 2023 and charged with the crime of raping a minor. The victim was 13 years old at the time of these incidents, which occurred between January and September 2023. At this time, Dodd was the pastor at the Lewark Church of God in Coffeyville. Dodd was formally charged with two counts of rape of a minor on September 14 of last year by Melissa Johnson, Montgomery County Attorney.

Coffeyville senior citizens hold donation drive for tornado victims

After a severe tornado ripped across over forty miles of Oklahoma, many wondered what could they do to help our neighbors to the south. Janet Reynolds, the Director of the Senior Citizen’s Activity Center in Coffeyville decided to approach the board to ask if they could hold a donation drive. Throughout last week, individuals who attended the many activities at the Center brought in donations for Barnsdall, Bartlesville, and other communities impacted by the recent tornadoes.

Kansas issues new Medicaid contracts with emphasis on expanding care, maternal needs

Kansas health officials have selected three health care insurance companies to manage the state’s privatized Medicaid system after conducting the selection process for the first time in six years. These managed care organizations will serve Kan-Care, the state’s system for the federal Medicaid program. In a Tuesday contract announcement, Kansas Department of Health and Environment officials said the determination process focused on the needs of the 458,000 Kansans enrolled for services.
